PRACTICE QUESTIONS OF RATIO AND PROPORTION – 3
1.) Three containers have their volumes in the ratio of 1 : 2 : 5. They are full of mixtures of milk and water. The mixtures contain milk and water in the ratio of 5:1, 4:1 & 2:3 respectively. The contents of all these three containers are put into the fourth container. Find the ratio of milk and water in the new mixture obtained when one fifth from the first and one third from second and one-sixth from third are mixed.

2.) A container contains milk and water in the ratio of 3:5. 20 litre mixture drawn off and replaced by 8 ltrs of water, therefore, the ratio of milk and water in the mixture becomes 3:7. Find the original quantity of containers.

3.) A container contains milk and water in the ratio of 2:3. 15 litre mixture drawn off and replaced by 10 ltrs of water, therefore, the ratio of milk and water in the mixture becomes 2:5. Find the original quantity of containers.
